Just call me "the Kingmaker"
My series of NT Wright posts is clearly having an effect: the Bishop of Durham is now being tipped as a front-runner to succeed Dr David Hope as Archbishop of York.
Just think how disappointed they'll be when they find out about Pr Joel Humann's jammie dodger-fuelled coup in recruiting Dr Wright to head up the new North of England Diocese of the ELCE...
But seriously, folks, sending Tom Wright to York would be a very exciting appointment (not least since my uncle sings in the choir there, so I'd have a fighting chance of maybe getting to a service where Abp Wright was preaching). It'd be the most exciting and inspiring Church of England appointment since - well, since they appointed the current Bishop of Durham.
